Additional information

Two reliable flash point measurements are available for the registered substance. In Haas 2011, a flash point value of 37± 0.5 °C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance using Abel closed-cup method in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13736 and in compliance with a known quality system (ISO 9001:2008). The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.

The key study is supported by a flash point value of 38 °C which was reported for the substance in internal company data (Dow Corning Corporation 2012). The result was obtained using a Setaflash closed-cup method.

A flash point of 37°C at 1013 hPa indicates that the substance should be classified for flammability according to the criteria of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
