No studies investigating the biodegradation of the substance in soil are available.The results from the ready biodegradability test (27.5-41.1% after 28 days) show that a certain degree of biodegradation of this substance in the environment can be expected. Nevertheless, as a worst-case approach, persistency of Fatty acids, C18 unsaturated, trimers, 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS No. 173832-46-7) cannot be excluded. An OECD 222 (Earthworm Reproduction test) is proposed as a good representation of the hazard of Fatty acids, C18 unsaturated, trimers, 2-ethylhexyl esters to terrestrial organisms. The dossier will be updated as soon as possible and the Chemical Safety Assessment according to Annex I of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 will be re-evaluated based on the outcome of the new study.
