Description of key information

With regard to L-Cysteine hydrochloride monohydrate and its anhydrous form: As the hydrochloride (monohydrate) salt dissociates in aqueous solutions only the L-Cysteine part of the test item is relevant and therefore used for the evaluation (Johannes 2013). There are a number of logPow values for LCysteine in the literature available, with small deviations of the reported values. Therefore, the average value of literature data should be used for risk assessment purposes.
