Description of key information

L-Cysteine Hydrochloride Monohydrate was tested as follows for flammability according to EU-Method A.10 and UN N.1:
First, a safety test was performed. The test item showed no signs of flammability.
In the preliminary screening test: The test item melted, boiled and decomposed to a black charred mass.
No signs of ignition were observed.
A full test programme to determine the burning rate was not necessary.
Therefore, the test item L-Cysteine Hydrochloride Monohydrate should be considered as not highly flammable.
