Additional information

In a key study, the acute aquatic toxicity towards Daphnia magna was investigated according to OECD guideline 202 under GLP. Daphnids were exposed to nominal concentrations (corrected for active ingredient) of 40, 72, 128, 224 and 400 mg/L. No effects were observed after 48 hours. The 24h- and 48-EC50 were found to be > 400 mg a.i./L.

Two supporting studies (both limit tests with reliability 4) report 48h-NOECs and 48h-EC50s of > 100 mg (a.i.)/L.

Work on a similar substnce that is being used for some read-across, sodium β-Alanine, N-(2-carboxyethyl)-, N-coco alkyl derivs., EC 290-476-8, suggested slightly higher toxicity to Daphnia.
