Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Alkyl ether sulfates are ionisable substanceswith a pKa < 2. The substances of the AES categorywill befully dissociated under environmentally relevant conditions (pH 4-9). The adsorption potential of the anionic compound iscorrelated with soil properties like pH, organic carbon content and mineral content. Generally, the adsorption potential of alkyl ether sulfates is expected to increase with decreasing pH and an increasing soil mineral content. But adoption also depends on substance properties like chain length of the alcohol and level of ethoxylation. The available QSAR calculations and experimental data demonstrate an adsorption potential for the alcohol ethoxylates, which increases with increasing chain length and level of ethoxylation.
