experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2012
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with national standard methods with acceptable restrictions

Materials and methods

Principles of method if other than guideline:
The test method allow the determination of the specific surface area of substances in powder or in granulate form according to the Brunauer, Emmet and Teller (BET) principle.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
BET
Details on methods and data evaluation:
4.1 Preparing the Instruments
Rinsing: valves 1, 2, 3, and 4 are open (pin has been removed), the blocking valve 5 is locked. Both the adsorption vessels are still on the AREA-Meter. The nitrogen stream is on (20%).

5. Evaluation
The nomographic evaluation is the most simplified way of calculating specific surface areas.
The specific surface area is calculated using four different parameters.
