Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:

Reference substance:
N-Ehtylpiperazin pure
Name:
N-Ehtylpiperazin pure
Type of composition:
boundary composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
Reference substance:
N-Ehtylpiperazin pure
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

1 -Ethylpiperazine (CAS 5308-25-8) is not readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria), therefore the substance is assessed to be potentially P or vP. The substance is not expected to significantly bioaccumulate in organisms (based on measured log Kow ≤ 3 and estimated BCF < 2000) and is, therefore, not B or vB. According to the chronic toxicity data on algae, the substance is assessed to be not T (CAS 109-01-3: 72-h NOErC > 352 mg/L; nominal, BASF SE, 2011; OECD, Rep. no.: 110907AG). The available acute toxicity data for aquatic invertebrates and fish support this assessment as the lowest acute toxicity value is 199 mg/L (48-h EC50). In addition, the substance holds no relevant official classification.

In conclusion, 1-ethylpiperazine (CAS 5308-25-8) should not be considered as a PBT/vPvB substance.
