Structural analogues like EDTA-FeNa, EDTA-CuNa2 and DTPA-FeHNa have not shown any skin sensitisation potential, i.e. read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate). In addition, EDTA-CaNa2 is not irritating to the skin and because of its structure, EDTA-CaNa2 is expected to have low skin penetration (see read across document in section 13).

This endpoint has been waived because of sufficient information available for other metal chelates of EDTA.

Because EDTA-CaNa2 is not considered to be a skin sensitiser it is not expected that it would be a respiratory sensitiser as all respiratory sensitisers tested have shown skin sensitising properties in skin sensitisation tests.
