Description of key information

< -20°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The melting point of the substance is predicted to be well below -20°C on the basis that it has a measured boiling point of 206°C (479K) and the number of atoms in the side-chain (discounting hydrogen atoms) is ≤10. A review of data for organosilicon compounds has indicated that alkoxysilane substances that meet these two conditions: boiling point is <600K (ca. 330°C) and the number of atoms in the side-chain (discounting hydrogen atoms) ≤10 are expected to have a melting point < -20°C. Additional information is given in a supporting report (PFA 2013ag) attached in Section 13 of REACH technical dossier.
