Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Name:
2-dibutylaminoethanol - LE
Type of composition:
legal entity composition of the substance
State / form:
liquid
>= 98 - <= 100 % (w/w)
Reference substance:
2-dibutylaminoethanol - LE
Reference substance:
2-dibutylaminoethanol - LE
This impurity is considered relevant for the classification and labelling of the substance
PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Based on OECD 301 B tests, the substance is readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria; BASF SE 2012, report no. 29G0286/05G008; BASF SE 2019, report no. 22G0286/05G024, 22G0286/05G025). Therefore, the substance is not persistent (not P and not vP).

The log Kow (1.86, measured, BASF AG 1993, report no. 93P00886.07) as well as a study according to OECD 305 C (BCF: < 39 L/kg at a concentration of 0.02 mg/L, NITE 2001, report no. A010219) indicate no potential for bioaccumulation, supported by the QSAR models BCFBAF v3.01 and OASIS Catalogic v5.13.1 (calculated BCF values range between 3.7 L/kg and 33.6 L/kg, BASF SE 2017). Therefore, the substance is concluded to be not bioaccumulative (not B and not vB).

The substance is not toxic (not T) since the lowest EC10 is > 0.01 mg/L (algae, 72h-NOErC = 3.2 mg/L, NITE 2004) and it holds no relevant classification.

In conclusion, the substance is considered to be not PBT / not vPvB.
