Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-19.5 °C

Additional information

The freezing point of the test substance 4'-methylacetophenone was determined in accordance with EU Method A1 by thermal analysis. The freezing point of the test substance was -19.5 °C at standard atmospheric pressure. This is clearly below the freezing point of 28 °C given in a chemical handbook. As the substance is a liquid at room temperature, the study is regarded as more reliable than the handbook data which is not considered any further.
