Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Strong bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms is unlikely for substances exhibiting a partition coefficient (logPow) < 4.5 or > 6. The logPow of 1,3,4-Thiadiazolidine-2,5-dithione, reaction products with hydrogen peroxide and tert-nonanethiol (CAS 91648-65-6) was experimentally determined to be > 9.4 at 30 °C (Fox, 2012). The aquatic bioconcentration factor (BCF) of was predicted with the US-EPA software BCFBAF v3.01 (Chemservice S.A., 2013). The most relevant method, the regression-based one, revealed a BCF of 15.7 L/kg. This value indicates that strong bioaccumulation in aquatic organisms is unlikely.

Terrestrial bioaccumulation is no mandatory requirement under REACH and the chemical safety assessment indicates no need for further testing. Thus, the endpoint is fulfilled.
