Description of key information

It was not possible to produce a saturated solution because the test item is a mixture of oxides and salts with different water solubilities. Therefore the solubility is determined as the solubility of the main compounds.
Calcium and sulfur present in the substance can be characterised as moderately soluble. The rest elements are either insoluble (Fe, NI) or slightly soluble.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The water solubility of the test item Slags, ferronickel-manufg./ Electric Furnace Slag/ Converter Slag was not possible to be determined according to OECD Guideline 105 and EC method A.6 (92/69/EC). It was not possible to produce a saturated solution because the test item is a mixture of oxides and salts with different water solubilities.

Therefore the solubility is determined as the solubility of the main compounds.

The solubility of Slags, ferronickel-manufg./ Electric Furnace Slag/ Converter Slag was determined in water at neutral pH (distilled water in equilibrium with atmospheric carbon dioxide) at 20 °0.5 °C.
