Description of key information

As per read-across from EC 272-723-1, a study under OECD 201 on Selenastrum capricornutum gave 72 hour and 96 hour EC50s of 2.0 mg/L based on the number of cells and 2.1 mg/L based on the average specific growth rate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
2 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
1 mg/L

Additional information

Read-across from other, structurally closely related ZDDPs is justified because of structural similarity and analogy of properties and effects. These are apparent from the physico-chemical properties, ecotoxicity, mammalian toxicity and fate, and supported by predictions using models.
