Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment. Seek medical

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek

medical attention if irritation persists.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and plenty of water. Seek medical attention

if irritation persists.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam carbon dioxide, dry powder may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen and hydrogen chloride gas.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see 2.3.10)

Avoid dust formation. Absorb spillages of solutions with a

suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil). Transfer the

spillage to labelled waste containers, or use a sealed

industrial vacuum machine.

Dispose of waste material in accordance with local

regulations by landfill or incineration.

Clean the spillage area with detergent and water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Take the usual precautions for handling organic chemicals.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure. If

exposure cannot be prevented use appropriate personal

protective equipment i.e. chemical resistant gloves (prEN

Protective clothing (prEN368)  and eye protection (prEN166).

If local exhaust ventilation is not provided use dust mask

(EN149 FFP1). Observe good industrial hygiene practise to

minimise exposure.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from sources of heat.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Paper bag, fibre drum or carton box of between 5 kg and 50

kg net weight.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg. sand or soil) may be disposed of by

landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local

regulations. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incinerate at a licensed facility with flue gas scrubbing to

remove oxides of nitrogen and chlorine containing compounds.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of paints/inks which can be disposed of as domestic waste.
