First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for several minutes,

if necessary seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash immediately with plenty of water and soap.

Contaminated clothing must be changed.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Water, foam, carbon

dioxide and dry powder are suitable.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Products of combustion may

contain oxides of carbon and nitrogen hydrogen chloride and

soot.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Depending on the conditions,

protective suits and respirators are recommended.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Observe handling precautions and avoid dust inhalation and

skin contact. Collect spilt material (using an absorbent

for the liquid preparation) and place in suitable

containers for disposal according to local waste

regulations eg incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautionary measures for chemicals.

Skin and eye contact must be avoided. Suitable protective

glasses, clothing and gloves are recommended. Avoid

formation of dust. Keep away from food and drink.

Storage: Plastic or tin-plated boxes are suitable for small

quanitites (up to 5 kg). Polyethylene-lined cardboard boxes

are suitable for large quantities. Store the substance

under dry conditions and at room temperature. Keep

containers well sealed and avoid leaving residues on the

containers. Store the preparation as above, at 5 deg C.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at landfill sites insulated to prevent seepage of

liquids into the ground is possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration is possible and is the recommended method.

Waste gas treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and

hydrogen chloride should be fitted.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance can be eliminated by filtration or absorption

onto sludge.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain in the form

of articles which can be disposed of in usual domestic

waste.
