First-aid measures
- After inhalation: Supply fresh air and call for doctor for safety reasons.
In case of unconsciousness bring patient into stable side position for transport.
- After skin contact: Instantly wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.
- After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult doctor.
- After swallowing: Do not induce vomitting. Rinse mouth with water. Call a physician.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing agents: Carbon Dioxide, A/B/C Chemical Powder, Foam.
- Special hazards caused by the material, its products of combustion or resulting gases:
Formation of poisonous gases during heating or in fires: Hydrogen cyanide (HCN), Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrogen oxides (NOx),
- Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus. Wear full protective suit.
- Additional information Collect contaminated fire fighting water separately. It must not enter drains.
Accidental release measures
- Person-related safety precautions: Wear protective clothing. Unprotected persons must be kept away. Avoid contact with spilled product or contaminated surfaces.
- Measures for environmental protection: Keep at safety distance unauthorized personnel away. Do not allow to enter drainage system, surface or ground water.
- Measures for cleaning/collecting: Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, universal binder, sawdust). Sweep up or vacuum up and collect in suitable containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates and, in case the substance is transported to other sites for further processing, the substance should be handled at these sites under the Strictly Controlled Conditions as specified in REACH regulation Article 18(4). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at each manufacturing site.
Personal precautions while handling the product:
respiratory protection: filter apparatus, Filter P1
