Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

One reliable key study is available for this endpoint (FERRON N., 2010). In this key study, the determination of the viscosity of the test item has been performed according to the OECD Guideline N. 114 (1981), the ISO Standard 3219 (1993) and the GLP.

The method used was the viscometer with rotational spindles. The rotation of the spindle submerged in the tested item allows to measure the torsion strength necessary to overcome the resistance due to the viscosity.

The dynamic viscosity wasmeasured at 20.0 and 40.0 °C. Two measurements of the dynamic viscosity has been performed at each temperature, a first one by increasing the rotation speed and a second one by decreasing the rotation speed.

The kinematic viscosity (in m².s-1) was equal to the dynamic viscosity (in Pa.s) divided by the density (in kg.m-3).

The density of the test item was 1.1100, that corresponding to 1110.0 kg/m3.

Taking into account the results obtained at 20.0 and40.0 °C, the test item was considered to have newtonian properties in the experimental conditions.
