Description of key information

No effects in the range of the water solubility of the test substance (< 0.004 mg/L in aqua dest) were observed for Selenastrum capricornutum (OECD 201).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of 2-hexyldecanoic acid[4-(6-tert-butyl-7-chloro-1H-pyrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazol-2-yl)phenylcarbamoyl]methylester (UM-235) to algae was investigated in a limit-test by de Roode (2004). The study was carried out according to OECD guideline 201 under GLP conditions. Selenastrum capricornutum cells were exposed to a filtered test solution of nominal 100 mg/L. HPLC analysis of the test media showed the mean measured test concentration to be 0.031 mg/L. No significant inhibition of cell growth could be observed after 72 h of exposure. Therefore, effect concentration values could not be calculated. The ErC50 (72 h) is considered to be > 0.031 mg/L and the NOErC (72 h) to be ≥ 0.031 mg/L.
