Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

non flammable (EU A.10, based on preliminary test)
no pyrophoricity (EU A.13, based on assessment of structural features and experience during handling)
no flammability on contact with water (EU A.12, based on assessment of structural features and a simple experiment)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Flammability test (EU A.10): The flame of a gas burner did not ignite the test substance pile. The substance 2-hexyldecanoic acid [4-(6-tert-butyl-7-chloro-1H-pyrazolo[1,5-b][1,2,4]triazol-2-yl)phenylcarbamoyl]methylester (UM-235) melted and turned brown (original colour: off white) in contact with the ignition source. After removal of the flame, no propagation of combustion throughout the test substance pile was observed.

Based on assessment of the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on flammability of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 or Directive 67/548/EEC and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification:

No propagation of burning in a test according to EU method A.10. Based on the assessment of the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected.
