Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Experimental data are available for the assessment of the long-term toxicity of epoxiconazole to fish. The GLP Full-life cycle study with Pimephales promelas as a test organism was choosen as a key study for the assessment of the test substance. This flow-through test revealed growth as the most sensitive endpoint in test concentrations ≥ 0.001 mg/L and therefore, set the NOEAEC to 0.01mg/L (after 5 months). However, growth was reduced by less than 10-20% in the highest treatment group (30 µg/L). Hence, no additional ECx calculations were performed (BASF AG, rep.no.: 81F0307/005085, 2003).

The supporting fish full life cycle test on fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) performed with the epoxiconazole. The study was originally conducted for clarification of open points in the mentioned above key FLC study (unclear effect on F2 sex ratio in the study by BASF AG, rep.no.: 81F0307/005085, 2003) and is hence specifically designed to that purpose with an unusual high spacing factor between test concentrations. ECx calculations could not be conducted for this study due to the low effects observed in the treatments (< 10%). The revealed 90-d NOEC was determined to be 0.01 mg/L (BASF AG, rep.no.: 2004/1003971, 2004).

The test concentrations were analytically verified in both studies.
