Test guideline
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: ASTM D6378-2018
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The vapor pressure was determined according to “ASTM D6378-2018”: Employing the apparatus, MINIVAP VPXpert Vapor Pressure Tester, a certain volume of the sample is drawn into the temperature controlled chamber with a built-in piston. After sealing the chamber, an expansion is performed in three steps to a final volume of (X+1) times that of the test specimen. After each expansion, the total pressure (TPx) is determined. The partial pressure from dissolved air (PPA) and the solubility of air in the specimen can be calculated from the three resulting pressures. The temperature of the chamber is then increased to a specified value, and the TPx is determined. The vapor pressure (VPx) can be obtained by sub- tracting the PPA in the liquid, which has been gas corrected for the temperature, from TPx.
