MOST IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS, BOTH ACUTE AND DELAYED

May cause sensitization by inhalation and skin contact. Overdose may cause confusion, dizziness, weakness, nervousness, low blod pressure and low pulse, difficulties to breath and unconsciousness.

INDICATION OF ANY IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION AND SPECIAL TREATMENT NEEDED

For medical treatment in case of overexposure, a recommended antidote would be naloxone.

Fire-fighting measures

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

Suitable extinguishing media -

Use water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable extinguishing media -

no limiatations given for this substance.

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE

In case of fire toxic fumes of carbon oxides (COx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) may be emitted.

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Prevent fire-extinguising water from contaminating the watercourses.

Accidental release measures

Exposure controls / personal protection

CONTROL PARMETERS

To the best of our knowledge, established occupational exposure limit value is not available for this substance. All handling should be done under Strictly Controlled Conditions.

EXPOSURE CONTROL

Appropriate engineering controls -

Use appropriate controls (e.g. containment, local exhaust ventilation) as specified in a workplace risk assessment. Technical measures and appropriate operations should be given priority over the use of personal protective equipment. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Personal protective equipment -

Eye face protection - Wear safety glasses with side shields. An emergency eyewash station should be available.

Skin protection - Handle with gloves. The selected gloves must comply with the specifications in EC Directive 89/686/EEC and the related standard EN374 or applicable federal, state and national legislation.

Protective clothing - Use impervious, disposable clothing to prevent skin contact. The type should be selected according to concentrations, quantities and duration of handling at the specific workplace.

Respiratory protection - Use full mask with breathing filter. In laboratories, use fume hood or laminar flow booth.

Environmental exposure controls - Do not release into drains or watercourses.

Stability and reactivity

REACTIVITY

No known reactivity hazards under normal conditions.

CHEMICAL STABILITY

Stable under normal conditions.

POSSIBILITY OF HAZARDOUS REACTIONS AND CONDITIONS TO AVOID

No known hazardous reactions when stored and handled as indicated.

INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS

Strong bases, strong acids and oxidizing agents.

HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS

Carbon oxides (COx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Disposal considerations

WASTE TREATMENT METHODS
