Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Ecotoxicological information

Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Administrative data

Endpoint:
long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Type of information:
experimental study planned
Justification for type of information:
NON-CONFIDENTIAL NAME OF SUBSTANCE:
- Name of the substance on which testing is proposed to be carried out: DiBrÖRMA

CONSIDERATIONS THAT THE GENERAL ADAPTATION POSSIBILITIES OF ANNEX XI OF THE REACH REGULATION ARE NOT ADEQUATE TO GENERATE THE NECESSARY INFORMATION [please address all points below]:
- Available GLP studies: short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
- Available non-GLP studies: None
- Historical human/control data: None
- (Q)SAR: ECOSAR v1.11 is of limited reliability in predicting chronic toxicity. Estimated chronic values are similar to experimentally-determined water solubility limits for the three major congeners. Toxicity cannot be excluded based on model results. It should be noted that Episuite software overestimates log Kow and underestimates water solubility. User inputs for these parameters reduce but do not eliminate predicted toxicity values.
- In vitro methods: None
- Weight of evidence: None
- Grouping and read-across: None
- Substance-tailored exposure driven testing: Not applicable

CONSIDERATIONS THAT THE SPECIFIC ADAPTATION POSSIBILITIES OF ANNEXES VI TO X (AND COLUMN 2 THEREOF) OF THE REACH REGULATION ARE NOT ADEQUATE TO GENERATE THE NECESSARY INFORMATION:
As per column 2 of Annex VII, long-term aquatic toxicity testing on Daphnia shall be considered if the substance is poorly water soluble. No toxicity was observed in a short-term test on Daphnia. The major constituents have water solubilities ranging from 0.0422 mg/L to 0.292 mg/L. The corresponding structures have log Kows ranging from 5.36 down to 4.77. No bioaccumulation is expected due to rapid metabolism of the acrylate groups, as indicated by a QSAR model (Catalogic) of BCF. Little degradation was seen in a test of ready biodegradability.
