Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No experimental data is available on target substance.

An experimental data is available on a structural analogue, i.e. 1,4-dihydroxyanthraquinone (CAS 81-64-1, EC 201-368-7); based on the structural similarity, it is considered as representative of the target substance. In particular, toxicity to alagae in a 72 -hour test shows EC50 = 0.044 mg/l.

Short-term and chronic toxicity of target substance to aquatic species, i.e. fish, daphnid and green algae, was additionally evaluated by means of ECOSAR v2.0 tool. The target substance was attributed to two ECOSAR classes, based on the molecular structure: phenol, poly class. In all cases, the ECOSAR analysis indicates the target substance to have a high potential for aquatic toxicity (EC50 below 1). This result is in line with the outcomes obtained for the similar substance.

Based on available information, the target substance is classified for aquatic toxicity Acute 1 and Chronic 1 according to the the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008).
