Description of key information

Ambrinol 95 was tested in an acute Daphnia toxicity test according to OECD TG 202 and following GLP. Young daphnids (< 24 hours old and 20 per concentration) were exposed in a semi-static test (24h renewal) to various concentrations (80, 36.4, 16.5, 7.5 and 3.4 μg test item/L) for 48 hours. The recorded effects were the mobility of the daphnids after 24 and 48 hours. In the freshly prepared test media at the start of the test and at the renewal of the test media 107 % of the nominal test concentrations were found (average of all test concentrations). In the respective aged test media 104 % of the nominal value was determined (average of all test concentrations). After 48 hours of exposure no immobilisation of the test animals was observed in the control and the concentration of 3.4 mg test item/L. At the concentration of 7.5 mg test item/L, three animals were immobile and 16 animals were immobile at the concentration of 16.5 mg test item/L. All animals were immobile at the concentrations of 36.4 and 80 mg test item/L. The 48-hour EC50 value was determined to be 11.6 mg test item/L.
