- the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling
- Justification for type of information:
- For the determination of the melting point differential scanning calorimetry method was used. Applying a linear heating rate, the melting point of 2,4,8,10-Tetraoxa-3,9-dithiaspiro[5.5]undecane, 3,3,9,9-tetraoxide was determined to be in the range of 277.5 –283.5 °C (550.7 – 556.7 K) at normal atmospheric pressure followed by decomposition in the range of 300.1 – 310.4 °C (573.3 – 583.6 K) with 6.73 J/g decomposition energy.
Based on the thermograms and the appearance of test item after the tests it is concluded that the test item decomposes after melting.
