Reference
Endpoint:
water solubility
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is hydrolytically unstable at pH 4, 7 and 9 (half-life less than 12 hours)

Description of key information

The value of 0.1 ug/L has been used to calculate the predicted exposure.

According to coloumn II, Annex VII Requirements 7.7. The study does not need to be conducted since the substance is hydrolytically unstable at pH 4, 7 and 9.

Tetrahydroxylane is not stable at pH 4,7 and 9, since it polymerize. Therefore it is placed on the market in a water/PEG solution at very low acid pH (about 0.6) in order to mantain the undissociate form.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0.1 µg/L
at the temperature of:
25 °C
