Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Results and discussion

Surface tension
Key result
Temp.:
20.1 °C
Conc.:
90 other: % of saturation
Remarks on result:
not determinable
Remarks:
The values of the single determinations show no significant difference (0.50% between mean values of the two measurement series). All measured values lay clearly above the threshold for surface tension which is stated in the guidelines. The surface tension of the negative control was determined with a difference of 0.05 % from the stated literature value. Therefore, the result of the test is considered valid and the test item 1,4- bis(isopropylamino)anthraquinone is classified as “not surface active” (in a solution at 90% saturation obtained from an aqueous solution prepared with 1.00 g/L in water HPLC grade shaking for 24 hours at 19.1 – 21.1 °C in a closed flask at 150 rpm.).

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The values of the single determinations show no significant difference (0.50% between
mean values of the two measurement series). All measured values lay clearly above the
threshold for surface tension which is stated in the guidelines.
The surface tension of the negative control was determined with a difference of 0.05 %
from the stated literature value.
Therefore, the result of the test is considered valid and the test item 1,4-
bis(isopropylamino)anthraquinone is classified as “not surface active” (in a solution at
90% saturation obtained from an aqueous solution prepared with 1.00 g/L in water HPLC
grade shaking for 24 hours at 19.1 – 21.1 °C in a closed flask at 150 rpm.).
