The flash point of Dodecane was determined to be 77.5 °C, hardly deviating from the literature value (78.6 °C, ASTM D7094, Table X1.1). For the determination of the initial temperature of flash point measurement a screen test was performed with the test item. The sample was heated from 25 °C using 5.5 °C/min heating rate. Based on this preliminary test the flash point of the test item was determined to be 58.5 °C. In the course of the study two subsequent tests with the test item were carried out. The measured flash points of the test item were 58.5 °C and 58.5 °C, resulting in a mean value of 59 °C. The repeatability criterion was met because the maximum difference between replicate determinations was not more than 2 °C.
