Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Appearance

The test item was observed to be a colourless to yellow liquid.

Melting/freezing point

The pour point of the test item was determined to be less than -20 °C (less than 253 K) (OECD 102 and EU Method A.1).

Boiling point

The test item was determined to boil from approximately 286 °C (595K) at 101 kPa (OECD 103 and EU Method A.2).

Relative density

The density of the test item was determined to be 976 kg/m3 at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C with a relative density of 0.976 (OECD 109 and EU Method A.3).

Granulometry

In accordance with REACH section 7.14, column 2, the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non-solid or granular form.

Vapour pressure

Vapour pressure of the test item was determined to be 8.46 x 10E-03 Pa at 25 °C (298 K), 1.19 x 10E-02 Pa at 40 °C (313 K) and 6.81 x 10E-02 Pa at 100 °C (373 K) (OECD 104 and EU Method A.4).

Partition coefficient

The partition coefficient of the test item was determined to be in the range 3.24 x 10E06 to > 1.0 x 10E10 with the associated Log10 Pow range being 6.51 to > 10. By percentage area normalisation, 97.6 % of the test item had a partition coefficient of greater than 1.0 x 10E10 (Log Pow > 10) (OECD 117 and EU Method A.8).

Water solubility

Water solubility of the test item was determined to be less than 1 x 10E-03 gTOC/L at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C from a nominal loading rate of 0.1 g/L (OECD 105 and EU Method A.6)

Surface tension

In accordance with REACH section 7.6, column 2, the study does not need to be conducted because water solubility has been determined to be below 1 mg/L at 20 °C.

Flash point

The flash point of the test item was determined to be 185 ± 2 °C (EU Method A.9).

Auto-ignition temperature

The test item was determined to have an auto-ignition temperature of 352 ± 5 °C (EU Method A.15).

Flammability

The test item is a liquid and, in line with ECHA Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance (Version 4.1; October 2015), relevant properties for classification of the substance as flammable are the determined flash point and boiling point. Further experimental investigation of flammability is therefore not required.

Explosive properties

The result for explosive properties was predicted negative based on the chemical structure of the test item (EU Method A.14).

Oxidising properties

The result for oxidising properties was predicted negative based on the chemical structure of the test item (EU Method A.21).

Stability in organic solvents

Test item formulations prepared at target concentrations of 10 and 200 mg/mL in arachis (peanut) oil met the protocol-specified acceptance criteria with relative standard deviation for the mean concentration ≤ 10 % at a concentration within the acceptable limits (85 % to 115 % of target). Assessment of test substance resuspension homogeneity and stability in formulations prepared at target concentrations of 10 and 200 mg/mL met protocol-specified acceptance criteria following storage for 6 and 11 days at room temperature (relative standard deviation for the mean concentration was ≤ 10 % and post-storage concentration was not less than 90 % of the pre-storage value).
