Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

oxidising liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Description of key information

The test substance is considered to be non-oxidising.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

The chemical structure of the test substancewas examined for the presence of groups associated with oxidising properties according to UN recommendations (Appendix 6 of the UN's Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Test and Criteria, 4th ed (Revised Edition, 2003) and Section of the REACH guidance R.7a: Endpoint-specific guidance (May 2008).

Justification for classification or non-classification

‘Squalene-rich fraction obtained from vegetable oil deodorizer distillate by transesterification, crystallisation and vacuum distillation’ does not contain any chemical groups associated with oxidising properties. Therefore, it does not warrant classification for oxidising properties according to the CLP criteria (EC 1272/2008).
