Since the zinc concentration in TP 1740 is below 25 %, no classification for acute toxicity is required for the target substance in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.

Chronic toxicity

As in the case of acute toxicity, algae appear to be the most sensitive species with NOEC of 20 µg/L for Chlorella sp. (Johnson 2007). The maximum concentration of zinc ion in TP 1740 is 14 %. Since the zinc concentration in TP 1740 is below 25 %, classification for chronic toxicity category 2 is triggered for the target substance in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
