Additional information

Bis(1-methylheptyl) adipate (CAS 108-63-4) is poorly soluble in water (0.0042 mg/L at 20 °C, pH ca. 5.9) and has a high log Pow (> 8 at 20 °C). The estimated log Koc is > 4.0 (KOCWIN v2.00). Therefore, sediment and soil are expected to be the main compartments for environmental distribution. However, due to the expected extensive removal of the substance in conventional STPs only small amounts of substance are expected to be released, and exposure of soil and sediment organisms is therefore unlikely. A volatilisation is not expected due to the low vapour pressure of the substance (4.28E-4 Pa at 20 °C).
