Details on study design:
Concentration of test item: 7.78 mg/L
Concentration of inoculum: One drop/L
Volume of test solution: 100mL
Incubation temperature: 20+-C
Incubation method: Stationary incubation in sealed condition
Incubation duration: 28d (under dark condition)

Measurement of dissolved oxygen by diaphragm electrode method
Determination of test item by gas chromatography
Reference substance:
benzoic acid, sodium salt
Key result
Parameter:
% degradation (DOC removal)
Value:
0
Sampling time:
28 d
Details on results:
An almost theoretical amount of the test item remained in the abiotic control (water + test item) and the test suspension (inoculum + test item). The average percentage biodegradation by BOD was 0% after 28 days. No peak except the test item peak was detected on the GC chromatograms. This result showed that there was no degradation product. From the above it was concluded that the test item was not biodegraded under the test conditions of this study.
Parameter:
BOD5
Value:
0 mg O2/g test mat.
Results with reference substance:
The average percentage biodegradation of the inoculum and sodium benzoate was 74% after 28 days.

Results

* The average percentage biodegradation was regarded as 0% because the calculated average value in parentheses was negative.

Test suspension (inoculum + test item)
 Percentage biodegradation by BOD  -3  -4  average  0 (-3)*%
Percentage biodegradation of test item (GC)   0  0  average  0%
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed
Conclusions:
The test item was not biodegraded under the test conditions of this study.
Executive summary:

HCFO-1224yd(Z) was not biodegraded under the test conditions of this study.
