Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

"In a standard 301F ready biodegradation Vammar D10 achieved 33% biodegradation in 28 d. In an enhanced OECD 301F test with acclimated sludge, 63% biodegradation of Vammar D10 was achieved after 28 dand 81.5% was reached after 60 days.In this enhanced test, the non-acclimated test system reached 41.8% in 28 days and 51.3% by the end of the test (68d). Vammar D10, although not readily biodegradable, has been shown to be inherently degradableand as such does not meet the criterion for persistence according to REACH Guidance R.11.4.2.2"

Standard simulation biodegradation studies are not technically feasible for petroleum-derived UVCB substances, therefore in accordance with Annex XI Section 1.3 testing is not scientifically necessary and the endpoint has been fulfilled using QSAR calculations for relevant constituents. Full justifications for this QSAR are presented in 'Attached justification' within the individual study records, but in brief these are justified because:

- the results are obtained from a QSAR model whose scientific validity has been established (CATALOGIC v5.11.19)

- Identified substance constituents fall within the applicability domain of the QSAR model

- results are adequate for the purposes of risk assessment

- adequate and reliable documentation is provided
