Determination of the Density

The density of the 90 % saturated aqueous solution of the test item in double distilled water was determined in a preliminary measurement to be 0.999 g/cm3 (20.0 °C).

Temperature

The temperature range of the test solution during the whole measurements was 19.9 - 20.0 °C (for the last 10 measurements see Table 1).

Conclusions:
The surface tension of a 90% saturated aqueous solution of test item has been determined to be 50.48 mN/m at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C. The test item is considered to be surface-active.
Executive summary:

The surface tension was determined using the ring method of OECD TG 115 and EU Method A.5 under GLP. The surface tension of a 90% saturated aqueous solution of the test item has been determined to be 50.48 mN/m at 20.0 ± 0.5 °C. Substances showing a surface tension lower than 60 mN/m under the conditions of this method, should be regarded as being surface active.
