Description of key information

The substance does not ionise in the pH range from 0 to 12 and does not have a pKa value in this pH range. Irreversible degradation, presumably hydrolysis, occurs at higher pH values precluding investigations of the dissociation constant at pH values exceeding 12, OECD112 (Hörmann, 1999).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The dissociation constant of the substance was studied under GLP in a reliable study according to OECD TG 112. It was demonstrated that no ionisation of the substance occurs in the pH range from 0 to 12 and that irreversible degradation of the substance occurs at pH values exceeding 12. Therefore, the substance does not have a pKa value and this information is taken into account in the chemical safety assessment.
