Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Based on the results obtained in the study it is concluded that the Melting range of 1-Benzyl-5-phenylbarbituric acid (BPBA) is 164.1 to 164.9°C.
Executive summary:

The melting point of 1-Benzyl-5-phenylbarbituric acid (BPBA) was determined by capillary tube in liquid bath method. The performance of the apparatus was validated using the melting point standard, Benzoic acid. The apparatus stands validated as the melting point of Benzoic acid was found within ± 1 C of its reported melting point value (123.8 ±C).

The finely pulverized test item was filled and packed in a capillary tube fused at one end up to 3 to 4 mm. The capillary tube was placed in silicone oil bath and heated with a heating rate of 1 K / minute.

The temperature range of the phase transition from solid to liquid state was recorded.

Based on the results obtained in the study it is concluded that the Melting range of 1-Benzyl-5 -phenylbarbituric acid (BPBA) is 164.1 to 164.9°C.
