Additional information

Dioctyl phosphonate was tested for acute aquatic toxicity at three trophic levels: fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae.

 - LC50 96h Zebra Fish (Branchydanio rerio) = 6.8 mg/l nominal concentration (95 % confidence limit = 5.1 - 8.9 mg/l): experimental data obtained testing Dioctyl phosphonate according to 92/69/EEC C.1 (dynamic system).

 - EC50 48 h Daphnia magna = 2.87 mg/l (estimated value based on measured concentration; 95 % confidence limit = 2.45 - 3.36 mg/l): experimental data obtained testing Dioctyl phosphonate according to OECD TG 202.

 - ErC50 72h Desmodesmus subspicatus  = 18.4 mg/l (estimated value based on measured concentration; 95 % confidence limit = 17.8 - 19.1 mg/l): experimental data obtained testing Dioctyl phosphonate according to OECD TG 201.

Moreover, Dioctyl phosphonate was tested for activated sludge respiration inhibition according to “Activated sludge respiration inhibition test” method reported in 87/302/EEC and the result was C50 3h activated sludge > 100 mg/l (nominal concentration).
