Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

According to the REACH Regulation (EC n. 1907/2006), Annex VII, Column 2, the study does not need to be conducted for liquids non flammable in air, e.g. no flash point up to 200 °C. According to Guidance on the Application of the CLP Criteria (July 2017) the flash point for liquid self-reactive substances or mixtures is only relevant in the temperature range where the product is thermally stable. Based on the DSC analysis, the decomposition of Dioctyl phosphonate starts at about 160 °C. The experimental flash point for Dioctyl phosphonate is > 160 °C and there is no concern regarding its self-ignition potential for all range of the thermal stability of the substance.
