Classification according to CLP
Acute aquatic data are available for two trophic levels for the test item. The most sensitive endpoint was determined to be aquatic algae, with a 72-hour EC50 of 0.791 mg/L. Therefore, the test item is classified as hazardous to the aquatic environment with a Acute Category 1 classification according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) as amended for the tenth time in Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/776.
Chronic aquatic data are available only for algae (72-h ErC10 = 0.614 mg/L).
As the EC10 value determined in the algae study is > 0.1 to < 1 mg/L and the substance is readily biodegradable, based on chronic data the test item is classified as hazardous to the aquatic environment with a Chronic Category 3 classification. However, the effect values determined in the short-term aquatic invertebrates study is > 1 to < 10 mg/L, and the substance has a log Kow of 4.49, therefore, by applying the most protective classification, the test item is classified based on the short-term aquatic invertebrates study as hazardous to the aquatic environment with a Chronic Category 2 classification according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) as amended for the tenth time in Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/776.
