Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Persistance assessment

The substance is a UVCB. The substance has been evaluated in a ready biodegradation study according to OECD 301D (closed bottle test). Up to 42 % biodegradation within 28 days was observed.

The test result is "not readily biodegradable".

Furthermore, since the known constituents of the UVCB do not contain functional groups associated with hydrolysis, the substance is considered to be not degradable via hydrolysis.

Therefore it can not be excluded that the substance is potentially P or vP.

Bioaccumulation assessment

For this substance only information on the partition coefficient is available. The partition coefficient was assessed according to OECD 117, HPLC method. Since this substance is a UVCB, multiple peaks were detected and a range of partition coefficients were determined. The log Pow values ranged between 0.759 and 5.48. The 2 most important peaks are taken into consideration for this assessment: log Pow for 17.5 area% = 4.37 and log Pow for 48.18 % = 4.63. Based on this information, the log Kow is hence borderline > or < than the screening cut-off log Kow = 4.5.

Therefore, also QSAR's have been ran to check the bio-accumulation potential of the main constituents. The resulting BCF were all well below 2000, the cut-off value for bio-accumulation. We hence conclude that the substance is not B.

Toxicity assessment

As the substance is classified as toxic for reproduction category 2, it has to be considered as T.
