The test substance was formed into a particle train. A hot flame from a gas burner with a diameter of about 6 mm was used to ignite the pile at one end. In the preliminary screening test, the substance was ignited by a hot flame from a gas burner. The flame extinguished after the gas burner was removed and did not propagate along the test train. The test substance was not to be classified as a readily combustible solid of the UN-class 4.1.

A study was conducted to determine the flammability temperature of the test substance according to the test method N.1 (test method for readily combustible solids) as described in the UN Recommendations of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criterian part III, sub-section 33.2.1.4. The test substance was formed into a particle train. A hot flame from a gas burner with a diameter of about 6 mm was used to ignite the pile at one end. In the preliminary screening test, the substance was ignited by a hot flame from a gas burner. The flame extinguished shortly after the gas burner was removed without propagating along the test train.
