Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The test is conducted to determine the relative density of a solid or liquid substance.

For solids or liquids, pycnometers of various shapes and with known volumes may be employed. The density is calculated from the difference in weight between the full and empty pycnometer and its known volume. The tests are run at a constant temperature, preferably 20 °C, and at least two measurements are generally performed.

The test is conducted in accordance with the procedure described in EU Regulation (EC) 440/2008, Annex Part A test A3 and OECD Test Guideline 109.
