Description of key information

The test item was investigated for its ready biodegradability in Carbon dioxide (CO2) evolution test (modified Sturm test) in compliance with the OECD 301B.

The relative biodegradation values calculated from the measurements performed during the test period revealed no biological relevant biodegradation of test item (0% and 2%, based on ThCO2).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of test item was evaluated in an aerobic aqueous medium with microbial activity introduced by inoculation with activated sludge; Carbon dioxide (CO2) evolution test (modified Sturm test) in compliance with the OECD 301B.

The relative biodegradation values calculated from the measurements performed during the test period revealed no biological relevant biodegradation of test item (0% and 2%, based on ThCO2).

In the toxicity control, test item was found not to inhibit microbial activity.

In conclusion, the test item was designated as not readily biodegradable.
