Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Pyrophoric liquid:

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied.

Flammability in contact with water:

The study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

Flammable liquids:

No flash-point was observed below the temperature at which reaction and/or degradation of the test item occurred.

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 section 2.6, this substance should be not classified as flammable liquids.

Pyrophoric liquids:

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 section 2.10.4.1, the classification procedure for pyrophoric solids need not be applied when experience in manufacture or handling shows that the substance or mixture does not ignite spontaneously on coming into contact with air at normal temperatures (i.e. the substance is known to be stable at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days)). As experience showthe test item was handled under normal laboratory conditions during this project, and demonstrated that the test item does not ignite in contact with air at room temperature, so the classification procedure for pyrophoric solids need not be applied for this substance.

Substances and mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases:

In accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 section 2.12.4.1(a), the classification procedure for this class need not be applied if the chemical structure of the substance or mixture does not contain metals or metalloids. As no metals or metalloids present in the molecule of this substance, so the classification procedure for this class need not be applied for this substance.
