Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
February 2011
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Well conducted study, according to EC Regulation No 1272/2008 (CLP) under Internal management system, certificate of analysis included in the report.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: EC Regulation No 1272/2008 (CLP) Annex I, Part 2: Physical Hazards, sub-section 2.14. Oxidizing Solids, Official Journal of the European Union no. L353, December 16, 2008
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: 2. Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III, sub-section 34.4.1, Test O.1: Test for oxidizing solids, 5th revised edition, United Nations, New York and Geneva, 2009
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Remarks:
Internal management system
Contact with:
powdered cellulose
Duration of test (contact time):
> 3 min
Key result
Sample tested:
1:1 sample-to-cellulose ratio
Parameter:
other: No propagation of combustion during the three minutes test period.
Remarks on result:
other: No propagation of combustion during the three minutes test period.
Key result
Sample tested:
4:1 sample-to-cellulose ratio
Parameter:
other: No propagation of combustion during the three minutes test period.
Remarks on result:
other: No propagation of combustion during the three minutes test period.

The following mixtures of test substance with cellulose were tested:

Mixing ratio 1:1 of test substance to cellulose

Mixing ratio 1:4 of test substance to cellulose

The two mixtures only ignited locally at the outside of the pile at the points where the ignition wires were covered by the mixture. But there was no propagation of combustion during the three minutes test period.

Because the test substance-cellulose mixtures did not burn, it was not necessary to test potassium bromate-cellulose mixtures.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Dichlorobis(η-cyclopentadienyl)titanium is not classified as an oxidizing solid in accordance with EC Regulation No 1272/2008 (CLP).
Executive summary:

Dichlorobis(η-cyclopentadienyl)titanium is not classified as an oxidizing solid in accordance with EC Regulation No 1272/2008 (CLP).
