Details on test solutions:
PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION (especially for difficult test substances)
- Method: the test medium of the single test concentration of nominal 100 mg/L was freshly prepared by completely dissolving nominal 500 mg of the test item in 5 liters of test water using ultrasonic treatment for 10 minutes and stirring for 15 minutes at room temperature.

Details on test conditions:
TEST SYSTEM
- Test vessel:glass aquarium

- Light intensity: 50-500 lux

TEST CONCENTRATIONS
- Spacing factor for test concentrations: no (limit test)
- Range finding study
- Test concentrations: data not shown
- Results used to determine the conditions for the definitive study: yes, range-finding test and results of a pre-experiment to determine the solubility of the test item in test water.
Reference substance (positive control):

Duration:
96 h
Dose descriptor:

Effect conc.:
> 100 mg/L
Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
mortality (fish)
Details on results:
- Behavioural abnormalities: none
- Mortality of control: none
- Any observations (e.g. precipitation) that might cause a difference between measured and nominal values: no remarkable observations, clear test medium
- Effect concentrations exceeding solubility of substance in test medium: no remarkable observation, clear test medium.
- 96-h NOEC >= 100 mg/L.
- The 96-hour LOEC, 96-hour LC50 and 96-hour LC100 were clearly higher than 100 mg/L. These values could not be quantified due to the absence of toxicity of T002907 at the maximum test concentration.
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The acute toxicity of T002907 was determined in a 96-hour semi-static test. A limit test was performed to demonstrate that the test item has no toxic effect on test organisms at the nominal concentration of 100 mg/L. The mean measured test item concentration was 83% of the nominal value. The 96-hour LC50 was > 100 mg T002907/L. The results of the test can be considered reliable without restriction.

Description of key information

The study of Peither (2006), investigating the acute toxicity of T002907 in carp according to OECD guideline 203, was considered as the key study for endpoint coverage. A LC50 > 100 mg/L was obtained after an exposure of 96 hours in a semi-static test in freshwater. Based on the results it can be considered that T002907 is not harmful to fish.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
